Image Scout Privacy Policy

Image Scout is a Chrome extension that helps users scan the current webpage for image resources, filter the results, and download selected images.

Data Collection

Image Scout does not collect, sell, share, or transmit personal information to the developer or to any third-party server.

The extension processes webpage image URLs locally inside Chrome so it can display detected images and start downloads selected by the user.

Data Processed Locally

Image Scout may temporarily process the following data in the browser:

• Image URLs found on the current webpage.
• Image metadata such as width, height, MIME type, and source type.
• The current tab URL and title, used only to label scan results and organize downloads.
• Network image request URLs observed by Chrome, used only to detect images that are loaded dynamically.

This data remains local to the user's browser session. Image Scout does not upload this data to a remote server.

Permissions

Image Scout requests these Chrome permissions:

• activeTab: Allows the extension to scan the page after the user opens Image Scout.
• scripting: Allows Image Scout to run a local scanner on the current page.
• sidePanel: Displays the Image Scout interface in Chrome's side panel.
• downloads: Starts downloads for images selected by the user.
• tabs: Reads the active tab title and URL and clears cached results when a tab navigates.
